Simon Brand, Latin Icon, Debuts New Film at Colombian Film Festival

The Colombian film festival in New York has the honor to have the world premier of Simon Brand’s third feature film, “Default”. Simon Brand is a Colombian Director and one of the 40 most influential Latin celebrities in Hollywood according to “Variety magazine”, among great icons of the cinematographic industry such as Guillermo del Toro.
Simon Brand is known for his work on music videos for great artists such as Enrique Iglesias, Shakira, Alejandro Fernandez, Juan Luis Guerra, Ricardo Arjona and others. Simon has been nominated for major awards like the Grammys, MTV Awards and Clio for best music video . On the other hand, he has done more than 200 commercials for big clients such as Verizon, Apple and BMW.
His career as a director came to the big screen and made him one of the best directors in the Latin film industry. “Paraiso travel”, one of the most successful films in the history of Colombia and recognized by “Time magazine” as one of the best Latino films of the decade, was a film that won many awards around the world including best film. This year Simon brings his latest film “Default”, a thriller about the hijacking of a plane in Africa. The Colombian film festival has the honor to have the world premier of this movie in the opening of the festival, 25 March 2014.

El festival de cine colombiano en Nueva York tiene el honor de realizar el lanzamiento mundial de la película Default de Simón Brand, director Colombiano categorizado por la revista “Variety” como uno de los mejores 40 directores latinos en Hollywood, junto a grandes iconos de la industria cinematográfica como Guillermo Toro.
Simón Brand se ha destacado por su trabajo en videos musicales para grandes artistas como Enrique Iglesias, Shakira, Alejandro Fernández, Juan Luis Guerra Ricardo Arjona entre otros que lo han llevado a ser nominado en grandes premios como los Grammys, Mtv Awards and Clio. Por otro lado, ha realizado diferentes comerciales para grandes compañías como Verizon, Apple y BMW.
Su trayectoria en el cine a mostrado su talento como director. Paraíso travel, una de las películas más taquilleras en la historia de Colombia y reconocida por la revista “Time” como una de las mejores películas latinas de la década, fue una película que gano muchos premios alrededor del mundo como el de mejor película. Este año, Simón Brand nos trae una nueva película, “Default”, un thriller sobre el secuestro de un avión con periodistas Americanos en una pista de África. El festival Colombiano de cine en Nueva York tiene el honor de realizar el lanzamiento mundial de la película en la abertura del festival, 25 del marzo del 2014.
